I’m very happy to announce a new co-authored project with none other than David Moody (HATER series, AUTUM series), and my good friend, Craig DiLouie (THE INFECTION series, CRASH DIVE). Craig and I brainstormed this idea at a convention earlier this year. There might have been alcohol involved (lots…) but we came away with a solid and fun project. When we asked David Moody to join the project we were sure he’d say (very politely) NO. Craig and I were thrilled when he accepted.

So what is THE FRONT series about? We’re still keeping details tight lipped but suffice to say this is a World War II series set around paratroopers who must fight a new, overwhelming, and deadly enemy in the European theater during 1944.

I am thrilled to be working with two amazing professionals. I’m also honored to be writing the first book in the series. We’ll have more details soon. For now the first book is scheduled for release near the beginning of December. Here’s a sneak peek at the cover.

Plotter or Pantser? Declare your allegiance

This is a repost from an old blog but it’s been updatified. I’ll soon be moving this blog to my page at Swing by to pick up a free book. In the meantime…

You – yeah you. Fresh faced writer looking to score your first manuscript like a druggie addicted to word processing. Or you, look at you. Slovenly half-drunk author who’s been around long enough to know how to write between bouts of binge drinking. You’re both wondering about plotting out your next magnificent masterpiece. I’ve got news for you, it doesn’t matter how you plan your next book.

There are several schools of thought when it comes to plotting out a tale. Some like to write meticulous outlines with sub-plots and character notes. They like to detail every little hook and twist so when the fully written synopsis is done, all the author needs do is to fill in the words.  It also helps if you’ve got an agent or publisher interested in your next amazing work. When someone says there’s a possibility of you getting paid to write, it’s convenient to have an outline ready to send. Continue reading…

This blog is moving

Hi all,

In the coming days this blog will move to http://timothywlong. Why the move? I want to have one central location for posts. Also I have now listed all of my books on the new page. In fact, if you swing by the site, you’ll see that if you join my mailing list (for which I will NEVER spam you), you can get the first Z-Risen book for free.

Once the site has been turned off, I will make forward to my new site. Easy peasy.

While I have your attention, did you know that the new Z-Risen book is already up for pre-order? Hell yeah it is. There was a very long wait between book 2 and 3. Book 3 is now right around the corner. Pick up the pre-order now for only $2.99.

Z-Risen 3: Poisoned Earth book sample

Enjoy a sample from Z-Risen 3: Poisoned Earth.

In the event this log is found with my corpse, I’m Machinist Mate First Class Jackson Creed and it’s been a week since we arrived back in San Diego following the event. With me is Marine Sergeant Joel “Cruze” Kelly.

We were both stationed on the USS McClusky, an Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate out of San Diego. Our ship was overrun by the dead and we barely escaped with our lives. Now we live in the middle of Undead Central. Continue reading…
